Ged Cloake has been appointed as Belfield’s new Health, Safety and Environmental Director in a role that will see him oversee the strategic direction for all Group businesses.

Ged joins Belfield from 20 years at Bombardier, an international transportation business based in Derby where he was the Group HSE Director responsible for UK, India and Australia.

CEO Gary Lasham said: “We are delighted to welcome Ged to the business. He comes to us with a wealth of experience that will accelerate our journey towards a best in class ambition across the whole Group.

“His arrival has been a baptism of fire, coinciding with one of our biggest health and safety challenges to date – Covid-19. He has rapidly worked with our production managers to get our sites compliant with Government Covid-19 guidelines and I look forward to working with Ged as our businesses build back up to capacity.”

Ged said: “I was impressed from the outset with the company’s can-do approach, as well as the real desire to improve on HSE performance. The Covid-19 outbreak has really demonstrated the company’s agile approach. If they see a good idea, or agree to a make changes, then they get on and do it, and I have seen this across all the business areas. I am hugely looking forward to working with all the teams now to get a new HSE strategy embedded.”
